Lauri Supponen: Yön suunnat

Rindamus-radiossa soi yön ja yön päättymisen aikana kolme osaa, jotka ammentavat säveltäjä Lauri Supposen ilmansuuntapraktiikasta. Pohjoinen, koillinen ja itä soivat niinä aikoina, jolloin aurinko sijaitsee näissä ilmansuunnissa horisontin molemmin puolin. 

Pohjoinen on äänitetty Enonkosken kirkon uruilla, koillinen kontrabassolla säveltäjän kotona Helsingissä ja itä Mustarindan Belarus-merkkisellä pianolla lokakuussa 2023.

Teoksien rihmoja on toisinaan kuultavissa Veli Lehtovaaran Laiturilla Ypykänlammella elokuun aikana.

Lauri Supponen The Night Shift

The night and the end of the night of Rindamus Radio are the home for three fragments derived from composer Lauri Supponen’s ongoing practice relating to cardinal directions. North, northeast and east are playing at the times when the sun has positioned herself in these azimuths, on either side of the horizon.

North was recorded on the organ of Enonkoski church, northeast on the contrabass at the composer’s home in Helsinki and east on the Belarus-make piano in Mustarinda in October 2023.

Strands of the works may be heard on Veli Lehtovaara’s Pier on Ypykänlampi during August.
