Rindamus-kollektiivi

Rindamus on residenssityöskentelyn muotoa koetteleva projekti, joka on saanut alkunsa Mustarindassa koronavuonna 2021, katkoksellisuuden aikaan asettuen. Kokeilun tavoite on tutkia kehämäisen paluun kokemusta. Ryhmä tulee takaisin Paljakanvaaralle joka vuosi ja sitoutuu elämiseen ja työhön Mustarindan kanssa. Residenssikuukausien aikana Rindamus työskentelee kollektiivisen taiteellisen tutkimuksen parissa keskittyen yhteisöllisen työn ja hoivan teemoihin. Taiteellinen tutkimus pitää sisällään tavoitteiltaan avoimia taiteellisia vuoropuheluja sekä pitkäkestoisia yhteistyöprojekteja. Rindamus keskittyy taiteellisen harjoittamisen lisäksi Mustarinda-talon ja pihapiirin ylläpitoon tutkien miten taiteilijan rooli lomittuu talonhoitajan roolin kanssa. Kollektiivin muodostumiseen on keskeisesti vaikuttanut halu havainnoida muuttuvia rakenteita, järjestelmiä ja ekosysteemejä yhteisön tuen turvaamana sekä löytää taidokkuutta muuttua siinä, missä maailmakin muuttuu – maailmassa pysyen, Kainuusta käsin. Residenssikokeilu kestää yhteensä 12 vuotta heijastaen kahtatoista kuukautta vuodessa. 

Ryhmä aloittaa elokuussa 2026 monivuotisen taiteellisen projekti Rindamus-radion, joka on elonkirjoa ja elämää dokumentoiva kollaasi ja äänten arkisto. Rindamus-radion ohjelmia ja teoksia voi kuunnella elokuun ajan suorana radiolähetyksenä rindamus.net verkkosivuston välityksellä. Kokonaisuus jää sivustolle kuunneltavaksi syyskuusta 2026 alkaen.

Rindamus Collective

Rindamus is a project that explores the form of residency work; it originated at Mustarinda during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, taking root during a time of disruption. The goal of the experiment is to explore the experience of a cyclical return. The group returns to Paljakanvaara every year and commits to living and working alongside Mustarinda. During the residency months, Rindamus engages in collective artistic research, focusing on the themes of communal work and care. This artistic research encompasses open-ended artistic dialogues as well as long-term collaborative projects. In addition to artistic practice, Rindamus focuses on maintaining the Mustarinda house and its grounds, exploring how the role of the artist intertwines with that of the caretaker. A key factor in the formation of the collective has been the desire to observe changing structures, systems, and ecosystems within a framework of community support and to find the artistry to change as the world changes—while remaining in the world, from Kainuu. The residency experiment will last a total of 12 years, reflecting the twelve months of the year. 

In August 2026, the group will launch a multi-year artistic project called Rindamus Radio, a collage and sound archive documenting the fabric of life and everyday existence. Rindamus Radio’s programs and works can be listened to throughout August as live radio broadcasts via the rindamus.net website. The entire collection will remain available for listening on the website starting in September 2026.
